Oatmeal Cookies with Maple Brown Butter Frosting

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. nutmeg

3 cups old-fashioned oats

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Combine the flour, baking soda and spices and add the butter mixture. Then add the oats. Place on a cookie sheet with parchment and Bake 10 minutes, they will look slightly under done, its ok take them out. Allow to cool on the cookie sheet for 1 minute. Then drizzle with the frosting.

Frosting:

1/2 cup butter melted

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1 to 2 tsp natural maple flavoring; the bottle is in the picture below, King Arthur Flour sells it, DO NOT substitute artificial flavoring, your cookies will not taste good! 🙂

1/4 cup milk (I have used water in place of milk and they turn out just as yummy)

Mix all together adding the powdered sugar slowly, you might not need it all and you might want a little more than called for, I like my frosting thick. Drizzle this deliciousness on your cookies! ENJOY!
