Tea Party for Two

Over the weekend I had a very small Tea party for Two with someone special! I enjoy entertaining and have hosted larger parties and I always have fun. I have to say this little tea party for two was just as much fun! I set a small round table near a window in my dining room, I used my go to white round tablecloth. I purchased a small floral arrangement at the grocery store as the centerpiece. I used antique glass plates and a newer small tea pot with cups. It was just right. I served a basic tossed salad in flour tortilla cups, tomato pizza tarts, turkey sandwiches, suagr snap peas, pumpkin bread cut-outs, sugar cookies and biscuits. It was a wonderful day to spend lunchtime on the weekend. I hope it inspires you to have your own small gathering!

Enjoy!

Flour tortilla cups: Cut flower shapes out of a flour tortilla and place them in a mini muffin tin. Bake for about 5 minutes on 350. Fill with salad.

Tomato Pizza Tarts: Use the same flower cookie cutter and cut flower shapes out of refrigerated pie crust, place in mini muffin tin. Mix petite diced tomatoes from a can with shredded cheese. I use Trader Joe’s 3 cheese blend. Mix together and put about a tsp full in  each cup. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. They are done when the cheese starts to brown but check the bottom of one tart and make sure the pie crust has cooked.

Turkey Sandwiches: I used Pepperidge Fram Oatmeal bread. LOVE PF breads. Remove the crust and cut each piece into 3 rectangles. Spread lightly with Dijon mustard add turkey and provolone cheese. “tie” each little sandwich with a green from a scallion. I normally do this with chives but my store was out of chives and I already had scallions. PLUS the scallion greens are less expensive than the chives!
