Tomato Sauce

Today I am sharing a tried and true recipe, it is one I created many years ago. I think everyone’s recipe box should hold a good tomato sauce in it! This is an easy one that uses canned tomatoes. The secret to good sauce is in how long you cook it! You can cook this for 30 minutes if you are in a hurry but it is best when cooked for an hour or more. The longer it cooks, the thicker it becomes! ENJOY!

Mix and stir in a sauce pan;

28 oz can plum tomatoes

2/ 15 oz cans tomato sauce

6 oz tomato paste

1 cup chicken broth (can use vegetable or beef broth)

3 TBSP brown sugar

onion powder

oregano

garlic

Bring to a boil. Turn to a low simmer and cook for an hour. Serve over pasta or use on pizza, the possibilities are endless! It also freezes very well! ENJOY!
