Wings and Sauce

I am posting Monday’s post today in case you need an idea for Super Bowl! I just created this recipe yesterday and wanted to share it with you! I am not a lover of chicken wings. It isn’t that I don’t like them, I just don’t eat spicy and most of the wings are spicy. In creating new ideas/recipes for my husband’s spicy taste, I set out last week to find a spicy traditional wing recipe for him. I started thinking why can’t I make a wing for us non spicy eaters! Also trying to keep it all healthy. I had a taste last week for brown sugar and mustard, thinking that would make a good not spicy sauce. Here is what I created! Give it a try, it does have a lil kick to it but it is not too spicy! ENJOY!

Wings with Brown Sugar Mustard Glaze Dipping Sauce

4 pounds chicken wings (half for the brown sugar sauce and half for spicy wings)

Olive Oil

salt and pepper

Wash and thoroughly dry the wings. I separated the wing and the drumette, using a very sharp knife AND BEING extremely careful! Even drying the wings well they were still a tad slippery. I also cut the tip off the wing.

Place the wings and drumettes in a bag and add a very small amount of olive oil, salt and pepper.

Place on a stone and bake them at 400 degrees for 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and immediately place on a plate with paper towels to soak up some of the grease. They will be nice and crispy! Serve with the sauce! YUM!

For the spicy wings: once removed from oven and blotted with the paper towels, place the other half in a bowl and pour Sweet Baby Ray’s wing sauce over! These are VERY VERY spicy!

Sauce

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

1/4 cup water

1 TBSP low sodium soy sauce

Stir all ingredients in a small sauce pan over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes.
