Pizza Dough

HELLO!

Today I am sharing a well loved recipe! I have been making my own pizza since I can remember! This is my go to dough recipe I have used for the last several years! It is quick and easy. DO NOT let yeast dough intimidate you!! It is simple and quick to come together and it does not take as long as some recipes to rise. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

LOOK for a recipe using this dough later in the week!

Take care,

Debbi K.

Pizza Dough

1 package active dry yeast

1 cup warm water

1 egg

3 TBSP. olive oil

Pinch of salt

3 ½ to 4 cups all-purpose flour

Stir the yeast into the warm water in a stand mixer. Let stand 5 minutes.

Combine egg, oil and salt then add to the yeast mixture. Add 1 ¼ cups flour and beat on low 30 seconds, scrape bowl and beat 3 more minutes. Gradually add the rest of the flour. You may NOT need all the flour, gradually add until the dough comes together and isn’t too sticky. Place on a floured surface and knead in the remaining flour until dough is smooth and elastic. About 5 minutes. Lightly grease the bowl place dough in and turn coating all the dough. Cover with a damp towel (I use a paper towel). Let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.

Punch dough down and roll into one large thicker pizza on a baking sheet size stone or 2 thinner pizzas, for the thinner I use a round stone and a bar size stone pan. Cover with a towel and let rest for 20 minutes. It will rise a little more but not too much.

Spread with pizza sauce and your favorite toppings.  Bake at 400 degrees for approx. 20 minutes.

Enjoy!
